Customs, duties and import fees on EIVOI orders
Short answer: shipping itself is free to every country we serve โ no minimum spend, no shipping charge at checkout. Import charges are a separate question that depends on your country's rules, and 2026 rewrote several of them. The honest per-country picture: UK, Australia and New Zealand orders sit comfortably under their duty-free import thresholds (ยฃ135, A$1,000 and NZ$1,000 respectively โ a Silent Wake order is nowhere near them). The US eliminated its duty-free threshold entirely in August 2025, so any parcel entering the US from abroad can attract import charges regardless of which store you buy from โ details and what it means below. The EU replaced its exemption with a small flat duty plus VAT in July 2026. Where applicable, taxes and duties may be calculated during checkout; per our shipping policy, any additional charges requested by your local authorities on delivery are the customer's responsibility.
This page explains published government rules and our published policies, checked 28 August 2026. Import rules are changing quickly โ the dated notes below say what's scheduled to change and when. Nothing here is legal or tax advice.
United States โ the big 2026 change every online shopper should know
Until August 2025, parcels under $800 entered the US duty-free (the "de minimis" exemption). That exemption was eliminated on August 29, 2025 โ and after court challenges through early 2026, the suspension was reaffirmed by executive order in February 2026 and upheld by the Court of International Trade in August 2026, with a statutory repeal scheduled to take effect July 1, 2027 regardless. Practical translation: this is not a temporary blip, and it applies to every foreign store you order from โ us, our competitors, and everyone else shipping into the US from abroad.
What that means for an EIVOI order to a US address: where applicable, taxes and duties may be calculated during checkout so you see them before paying; if your local authorities request an additional charge on delivery, that charge is the customer's responsibility under our shipping policy. The same is true โ whether they say so on their sites or not โ for every non-US brand in this category. When you compare prices between stores, the fair comparison is the landed cost, not the sticker.
United Kingdom โ genuinely fee-free, until October 2028
The UK's ยฃ135 import threshold is alive and well: orders under ยฃ135 attract no duties at the border, and a Silent Wake order sits far below it. Worth knowing for the future: HM Treasury announced in June 2026 that the threshold will be removed on October 1, 2028. Until then, UK orders are the simplest cross-border purchase in this list. European Union โ small flat duty + VAT since July 2026
The EU ended its โฌ150 duty exemption: since July 1, 2026, parcels entering the EU carry a โฌ3 flat duty per parcel plus VAT. On an order this size that's a modest, predictable amount rather than a surprise percentage. Where applicable it may be calculated during checkout; anything requested locally on delivery follows the policy above.
Canada
Prices for Canadian visitors are displayed in Canadian dollars, and delivery to US and Canadian addresses runs 3โ10 business days after 1โ3 days of processing. Where taxes apply they may be calculated during checkout, so the price you approve is the price you pay there.
Australia and New Zealand โ the most stable rules anywhere
Australia's A$1,000 and New Zealand's NZ$1,000 import thresholds are the longest-standing in this list (Australia's unchanged since 2018). An EIVOI order is a small fraction of either threshold, so no duties are collected at the border for a normal order. International delivery runs 12โ20 business days depending on destination.
